Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) are generally medium to long term investments. The value of the participatory interest may go up as well as down and past performance is not necessarily a guide to future performance. Performance disclosed in the fact sheets and minimum disclosure documents is applicable to the respective fund. Personal Trust aims to provide a professional and personal service to all its clients. There may, however, be occasions where clients need to have their complaints resolved and it is in the best interest of both parties that all complaints are dealt with quickly and in line with current legislation. The information tabled here is intended to inform clients of the process they need to follow should they need to lodge a formal complaint.
Relating to FAIS, a ‘complaint’ means a specific complaint relating to a financial service rendered by Personal Trust or any of its representatives to the complainant, and in which complaint is alleged that Personal Trust or its representative:
- Has contravened or failed to comply with a provision of this Act and that as a result thereof the complainant has suffered or is likely to suffer financial prejudice or damage
- Has willfully or negligently rendered a financial service to the complainant which has caused prejudice or damage to the complainant or which is likely to result in such prejudice or damage; or
- Has treated the complainant unfairly
The Complaints Officer is an employee of Personal Trust, nominated by management, who is responsible for receiving all complaints, maintaining the complaints register, gathering documentation relating to the complaint and maintaining all records of communication during the complaints process.

The complaint must contain all relevant information and copies of documentation relating to the complaint.
The Complaints Officer will confirm receipt of the complaint and will, where possible, endeavour to provide a timeframe in which we will respond to the complaint.
